We also said farewell to long-time GPO Alan Monahan, who has moved on to 'bigger things ', but will always be a Harrier to us. Al received a presentation from Chairman Nicky Keeling.
Thanks a million to everyone that contributed in any way to making this day such a success, including
• the Ballindaggin Pipe Band
• all the clubs who loaned us jerseys - Shelmaliers, Gusserane, St Martins, Castletown Liam Mellowes , Duffry Rovers, St Marys Maudlintown
• referees, including senior players Richie Lawlor, Richie Kehoe, Conall Clancy and Brendan Mulligan
• all our dedicated coaches
• anyone that baked or contributed to the mountain of goodies on display in the clubhouse
• to those that directed traffic, handed out programmes or helped with the catering in the clubhouse and clean-up afterwards
• to juvenile hurler Frankie Black for his photo and video montage
• to the parents for bringing their children out hurling all through the year
• and to the brilliant children themselves, without who these days simply could not happen
The hurling continues though - we're not finished yet! - and we'll all be back to training again next Sunday morning, while our U10 boys turn their attention to our in-house Terry Connolly Cup for the month of October.
