New lights have been installed on the Pat Murphy Arena. The project involved replacing the old Metal Halide light fittings with new LED light fittings and connection of the lights to the grid rather than running them from the generator.

As part of the project, our electricity supply has been upgraded to three phase which also provides a future proofed power supply for the club and for any other projects that require power. A huge thanks to Frank Meagher Electrical for their work on bringing this to fruition.

This project was grant aided under the Community Climate Action Programme. The estimated reduction in CO2 emissions is over 8 tonnes per annum as well as the removal of noise pollution from the generator, so this project has major environmental benefits and is also an element of our GAA Green Clubs programme application.
